The world of digital marketing!
After joining Talk To Media 13 weeks ago and becoming a fully-fledged member of the team (after passing my probation) – I wanted to take a look back at what I have learnt so far on my digital marketing journey.
One of the first things I noticed when I walked into the office is that this line of work wasn’t going to be easy – It takes time if you want to do it right. However if you do manage to do it well, it can be very rewarding and effective for clients.
In my short time with Talk To Media I’ve learnt many things about the world of Social Media and more importantly I’ve learnt that it’s a very important aspect of any marketing mix!
Before starting I had no idea that tweets with images got two times the amount of engagement than those without and it has nearly fried my brain trying to take in all the information – but, I am getting there thanks to Stacey and the team!
However, Social Media only takes up 50% of my time here at Talk To Media, the rest is filled by Google Adwords. Currently, I am gearing up to take my second exam on the road to becoming Adwords accredited, this has entailed learning about cost per click, Adwords rules and regulations, advert extensions and so much more.
I have also been able to try my hand at writing posts, blogs and selecting keywords – Two things that I have learnt that need to be perfect in order for a campaign to work.
The biggest thing I’ve learnt is to make sure everything is checked by professionals before it is sent out – be it Social Media or Google Adwords, because once it’s out there it can’t be taken back.
Before sending out any posts, they’re all checked by my line manager and in my opinion that’s where a lot of businesses go wrong – some businesses think they can just post anything out or recycle tweets continuously and see great results however this isn’t the case!
If you want great results from Social Media you need to know what you’re doing, or have someone on hand who does. This is where Talk To Media can help, if you need Social Media management or advice then get in touch today – We’re always happy to help!
Until next time…
