Brief

Netcoda is a new company owned and run by digital specialists in web coding and IT systems. The owner hired us at the very early stages of the business to work through an exhaustive naming process, identify available web domains for their new website and follow this up with designs for a full brand identity with printed collateral.

Solution

The naming process was completed over a series of stages: collecting initial research of relevant industry examples; establishing keywords relating to the initial brief; exploring abstract, compound and modified words; and refining any potential solutions. We used the final agreed name ‘Netcoda’ to produce a brand identity based on a logo that incorporates an icon that can be used independently to represent Netcoda where necessary.

Outcome

The Netcoda brand identity conveys a fresh, clean look and feel and remains relevant to web and technical industries. The name, and the way it’s spelled, conveys the nature of the business, it’s easy to remember and it has a youthful appeal. Netcoda’s printed collateral features a raised spot gloss finishing technique to draw attention to the logo icon and really give it a professional edge they can be proud of.
