Crack the code competition, Alhambra shopping centre

Crack the Code Competition

A local shopping centre recently gave shoppers in Barnsley the chance to win £10,000 as part of their Crack the Code competition with Dearne FM.

The promotion took place at The Alhambra Shopping Centre from Tuesday 16th August until Saturday 20th August and contestants had to try and guess the correct 6-digit code to open the locked safe.

Over the 5-day promotion there was just short of 1000 entries with queues all day long to play. Unfortunately, nobody cracked the winning code which was 359581. However, a couple of contestants got 3 of the digits in the right order – Troi Cunliffe guessed 357911 and Alison Dyson guessed 379261.

Everyone who entered the competition was put into a prize draw to win a hamper full of goodies containing £150 of shopping vouchers, chocolate and treats, and it was Jan Jagger from Mapplewell who scooped the runner up prize.

Steph Higham, Alhambra Marketing Manager said: “Our Crack the Code promotion was a huge success, with people queueing to play and our Facebook Event reaching almost 25,000 people.

“Although no-one won the huge cash prize, it was great to see the community come together to try their luck, and we’re delighted for Jan winning the hamper.”
